A major objective of the Government of Dubai in creating Dubai Healthcare City is to make Dubai a regional center of excellence in health care delivery by:

  • Offering high-quality, patient-centered medical services
  • Integrating local practices with international standards of excellence
  • Ensuring patient safety
  • Providing education and training to support the development of health care providers operating within DHCC

HMI and DHCC have collaborated to:

  • Recruit a team of health care professionals to oversee the implementation and management of DHCC's quality infrastructure. The Dubai-based team brings together expertise in health care quality, clinical planning, operations, and strategic planning.
  • Develop a health care management infrastructure to support continuous improvement throughout DHCC.
  • Launch the Center for Healthcare Planning and Quality (CPQ).

Since its inception in 2004, the Center for Healthcare Planning and Quality has worked to ensure that health care providers applying for entry into Dubai Healthcare City meet international standards of quality and are on a course of continued progress. CPQ has achieved a significant milestone by formally defining the rules and regulations governing Dubai Healthcare City. Going forward, the CPQ will oversee health care quality management, medical education, training, and credentialing within DHCC.
