

Asan Medical Center (AMC), Seoul, Korea, an affiliate of the University of Ulsan College of Medicine and the largest hospital in Korea, has collaborated with us on initiatives that address faculty and program development, academic exchanges, expansion of infrastructure, and administration. Together with Asan Medical Center we have jointly sponsored a biennial international symposium in Seoul on cutting-edge issues in medical science and technology. Topics have included "Cerebral Ischemia: Basic Mechanisms and Clinical Aspects" (1997), "Scientific Integration of Western Medicine and Complementary/Alternative-Mind/Body Medicine" (1999), "Genomics and Proteomics: Impact on Medicine and Health" (2001), "Impact of Nanotechnology in Biology and Medicine" (2004), and "New Frontiers of Oncology" (2006).
