Dr. Tom Aretz is a highly regarded educator, scientist, and senior mentor who has worked extensively with PHMI's academic clients. A cardiovascular pathologist by training, Dr. Aretz is a driving force for PHMI collaborations in Germany, India, Japan, and Pakistan, among many other projects.
Dr. Elizabeth Armstrong brings to PHMI's academic alliances a rich background in curriculum and faculty development at Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Connie Bowe is a Senior Consultant at PHMI who participates in programs focused on curriculum and faculty development.
Elizabeth "Betsy" Brown is a strong voice for the nursing profession who has been instrumental in helping PHMI client institutions to enhance the competency and leadership of their nursing teams, and integrate key input on nursing practice into hospital planning and program implementation.
Dr. Regis de Silva joined PHMI following a long career as a clinical cardiologist at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He works with other PHMI team members and clients to direct programs focused on clinical service development, quality improvement, and strategic planning.
Dr. Bruce Dowton joined PHMI as Chief Operating Officer after holding numerous senior leadership positions at medical schools in the United States and Australia. In addition to overseeing PHMI's internal operations, Dr. Dowton plays an active role in project development and implementation.
Dr. Lynn Eckhert works on PHMI programs focused on developing and enhancing medical and nursing schools and education programs. Trained as a pediatrician, Dr. Eckhert was a longtime senior leader at the University of Massachusetts Medical School prior to joining PHMI.
Al Gillis brings to PHMI projects a deep knowledge of the many complexities that go into developing a state-of-the-art health care facility. His advice on concept design, space planning, equipment selection, information systems, and organizational development helps clients make good decisions at every stage of the planning process.
Dr. John Helfrick is a longtime health care quality expert who works with PHMI clients seeking to raise the standard of care in their institution. Trained as an oral surgeon, he has held numerous leadership positions in quality-focused organizations, including the Joint Commission.
Dr. Andrew Jeon, PHMI's President and Chief Executive Officer, has over two decades of senior administrative and clinical experience, notably at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham & Women's Hospital. In addition to providing the overall leadership for PHMI, he plays a major role in mentoring the senior leaders of our client institutions.
Lori Matthews is an architect and planner who works on a wide range of projects focused on developing new facilities for health care and education, including a new medical school in Saudi Arabia and the master site plan for a new academic campus in Pakistan.
As PHMI's Chief Strategy Officer, Dr. Mehul Mehta not only provides strategic leadership and direction for PHMI, but also works with clients whose own objectives require a sound strategy for moving forward.
Dr. Rick van Pelt works with PHMI team members and clients on quality improvement and patient safety programs. An anasthesiologist by training, Dr. van Pelt brings to PHMI projects a rich background in both the clinical and administrative sides of patient care.
