Planning a new academic medical campus

Defence Housing Authority Islamabad
Islamabad, Pakistan

Project scope:

The Defence Housing Authority Islamabad (DHAI), a government agency focused on land and infrastructure development in Pakistan, is heading the development of a 100-acre integrated academic medical campus that will include colleges of medicine, nursing, dentistry, and allied health, as well as research facilities and a 350-bed teaching hospital.

Collaboration with PHMI:

PHMI is advising DHAI and their architectural team in the areas of master site planning and facilities development. PHMI is also working with academic and health care leaders in Pakistan on the development of clinical and educational programs to support the successful implementation of each of the entities that comprise the integrated campus. This collaboration has already resulted in the finalization of a master plan for the entire campus and considerable progress towards the launch of the nursing school. Design work for permanent facilities to house the medical and nursing colleges and the teaching hospitals are underway.
